Our Story
There are so many things we mean to tell the people we love. The memories we treasure. The little things they do that matter more than they realize. The ways they’ve helped us become who we are.
Sometimes we assume they already know. Sometimes we just don’t know where to begin.
For me, that person is my Dad.
For as long as I can remember, he has shown up for the people he loves—giving, supporting, and helping without needing to be asked. He has spent his life in service to his faith, his family, and his country. His example has shaped my life in more ways than I can put into words.
My Dad has Alzheimer’s. They call it the long goodbye. I spend time with him and tell him I love him and how much he means to me, but I wish I had told him those things when I still believed we had all the time in the world.
That wish is what led me to create This Is Why I Love You.
I wanted to make it easier for someone to express the things that are so often left unsaid: “I remember this.” “You made a difference.” “This is why I love you.”
